The Board of Directors

The US-SLFC is governed by a board comprising of equal numbers of Sri Lankan and US government officers and citizens as its members, with neither government having veto power.

The board members:

  • Ambassador Alaina Teplitz (Honorary Chairperson), U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives, U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka
  • David McGuire (Chairperson), Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka
  • Melissa Paulsen (Treasurer), Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka
  • Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake (Member), Senior Professor of Demography University of Colombo and former Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo
  • Prof. Sampath Amaratunga (Member), Chairman, University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka and former Vice Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura
  • Prof. Savitri Goonesekere (Member), Emeritus Professor of Law, University of Colombo and former Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo
