Recommencement of FULBRIGHT STORIES in an ONLINE format!

The US-SL Fulbright Commission (US-SLFC) is pleased to announce the recommencement of the series, Fulbright Stories, in an online format!

In Dec. 2019, the United States - Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission launched “Fulbright Stories” - a series of programs that will showcase the stories of our alumni and the incredible work they are doing; to demonstrate the tremendous impact and contributions our alumni have made to both countries. Sri Lankan Fulbright Alumni have returned with knowledge, skills and experiences to build capacity and expertise in the country; they have engaged in ground-breaking work; they have been heroes in our communities and championed important projects; they have taken on leadership positions nationally and globally; and they have continued to be conduits of collaborative exchange between Sri Lanka and the United States. Similarly, the American Fulbright students and scholars who have been in Sri Lanka continue to build bridges of understanding between the two countries.

Join the Fulbright Commission as we celebrate the contributions of alumni of all our programs and their role in helping to bring the United States and Sri Lanka closer together. Listen to their stories and learn about the important work they are engaged in and find ways to collaborate with this phenomenal group of individuals who are making a difference. You too can be a part of the Fulbright legacy by learning more about the opportunities to apply for a Fulbright award through their stories. Over 2000 Sri Lankan and American Alumni have participated in the Fulbright program in Sri Lanka and they join 380,000 Fulbright alumni from around the globe.

The United States-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission (US-SLFC) is pleased to announce a new episode of Fulbright Stories presented by Prof. Devaka Weerakoon titled “Bandula and other fishy stories” on the efforts taken towards saving and protecting the endangered freshwater endemic fishes of Sri Lanka.

The talk will be held virtually on November 12, 2020 from 3:30 – 4:30 pm.
