Why become a member?

“EducationUSA centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world by offering accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities. How to become a member

Membership Requirements:

You are required to submit the following at the time of registration for membership.

1. The requisite membership fee

2. 2nos National Identity Card sized photographs

3. The National ID card /Passport

*Please note that the facility for loan of books will only be activated after processing the application for membership.

· Membership is not transferable

· Membership Card has to be produced during each visit

· US-SLFC reserves the right to revoke the membership of any individual who abuses institutional/ library/membership privileges or rules.

· Timings, fees and services are subject to change

· Membership fee for 12 months – Rs. 5000/-

· Retain a photocopy of your membership card.

· Effective from May 1, 2010

Exemptions available upon request for students in need.

Conditions for services

For individual advising sessions:

Members:

· Appointments given only after attendance at basic orientation sessions and initial library search.

· Membership includes up to 4 half hourly sessions.

· Any cancellations or postponements should be notified at least a day before. Failure to do so will reduce the number of entitled appointments.

· Additional appointments available at non-member rates. Fees have to be paid for confirmation.

· US-SLFC retains the right to determine the need and timings of appointments.

Non-members:

· 30 minute sessions (Rs. 500/- per session) Fees have to be paid prior to confirmation.

· Requests for cancellations or postponements should be notified at least a day before. No refunds unless requests are made on time.

· US-SLFC retains the right to determine the need and timings of appointments.

For use of computers:

Members:

· Membership includes up to 20 hours subject to a maximum of 4 hours a day.

· Additional use available at non-member rates

· Advance bookings required

· Requests for cancellations or postponements should be made at least a day before. Failure to do so will reduce the number of entitled hours.

Non-members:

· Need to make reservations on payment.

For photocopying:

· Up to a maximum of 15 pages at one time. Orders could be placed for extra copies.

· US-SLFC will determine all procedures related to photocopying.

For authentication of educational documents:

· US-SLFC reserves the right to determine the authenticity or propriety of a document submitted.

For editing undergraduate Essays/graduate SOPs:

Members only

· Attendance at related workshops/sessions is a pre-requisite.

· Up to a maximum of 3 essays
