WINTHROP UNIVERSITY OFFERS INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE SCHOLARSHIP VALUED AT $15K ANNUALLY

Winthrop University is committed to increasing diversity on campus. For

this reason, we recently introduced the International Baccalaureate scholarship. This scholarship is guaranteed as long as the GPA requirement is met! Winthrop University works with rolling admissions and is therefore still accepting applications for the fall 2011 semester!

The International Baccalaureate scholarship is awarded to all international freshman applicants who:

• Complete the IB Program (Diploma or Certificates) through the senior year of high school

• Have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on their higher level courses

The scholarship is valued at $15,000 per academic year and is renewable every semester for up to four years as long as a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is maintained.

UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY OFFERS ALUMNI LEGACY NONRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Did one of your parents earn a degree from USU? If so, you can now attend Utah State and the nonresident portion of tuition will be waived!

Alumni Legacy Nonresident Scholarship, a future Aggie must:

20% TUITION SAVINGS AT WALDEN UNIVERSITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Walden University is pleased to extend a 20% tuition savings to international students who are referred by an EducationUSA Adviser.

This offer is open to all international students who enroll in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program through the end of 2012. Walden offers more than 50 degree programs with more than 225 specializations and concentrations in areas such as health sciences, counseling, human services, management, psychology, education, public health, nursing, public administration, technology, and engineering.

One tuition-reduction benefit may be applied to tuition and fees.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE TO GRADUATE STUDENTS

The International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949 by the Philanthropic Educational Organization, is a program that provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in

the United States and Canada. The applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study or working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the US or Canada. In order to qualify for her first scholarship, the applicant must have at least one full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year.

Eligibility must be established before application material is made available electronically to applicants, and the completed eligibility material will be accepted electronically only between August

15 and December 15. The deadline for submitting application and all related material, except applicant’s confirmation of admission from the university, is January 31.

AMERICAN UNIVERISTY GLOBAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM OFFERS NEW

3 YEAR BA PROGRAM

Beginning in the fall of 2011, American University will offer a three-year

Bachelor of Arts program through the School of International Service (SIS).

This program, titled Global Scholars, represents the best of American University’s strengths in undergraduate education: academic excellence, engaged student-centered learning, faculty who are experts in their fields, and opportunities for international study, research, and internships. Students will receive their B.A. in three years with the option of considering a four-year B.A./M.A.

Admitted students for this coming fall are from all across the United States and many foreign countries, including Japan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Panama, Mexico, Bulgaria, India, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, etc.

THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO LAUNCHES BECKER FRIEDMAN INSTITUTE

The Becker Friedman Institute brings together two major economic

research centers at the University of Chicago: the Milton Friedman Institute for Research in Economics and the Becker Center on Chicago Price Theory. Supported by the faculties of the University’s Economics Department, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the Law School, the Becker Friedman Institute will continue to support scholarship and attract outstanding visiting scholars of all levels to the University.

The Becker Friedman Institute will appoint highly accomplished scholars to serve as Distinguished Fellows who will visit the University for extended periods and play leadership roles in research initiatives. The Institute will support inquiry on price theory and on the interaction of economics, public policy and the law, historical strengths at Chicago. Other durable and collaborative research

initiatives will address some of today’s most pressing issues: systemic risks in the global economy, long-term fiscal imbalances, economics and the family, investment in human capital and other topics.
