TROY UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS AND ELITE AWARDS

Troy University is different from most institutions of higher learning. Rather than preparing students for jobs, we prepare them for what’s ahead – life –

opportunity – surprises. Yes, the future can be unpredictable, but the people who succeed in the years to come will do so because of preparation, planning and drive. These are just a few of the defining characteristics of TROY students.

Troy University is pleased to let you know that it is not too late to get admission for the fall (August), nor pick up some scholarships for your undergraduate studies. Also Elite Awards are still open for spring semester.

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA NON-RESIDENT TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS

One of the nation’s largest schools, the University of Minnesota offers baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in virtually every field — from medicine to business, law to liberal arts, and science and engineering to architecture.

The University of Minnesota offers a limited number of Global Excellence Scholarships for incoming freshmen and international students studying on an F-1 visa. These competitive scholarships cover the full difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates or 50% of the difference between resident and non-resident tuition rates. For fall 2012, the values of the awards are $2,500 or $5,000. No separate scholarship application is required. Students are considered for these awards based on an overall assessment of the admission application.

COMMUNITY COLLEGES’ ROLE IN GLOBAL PROSPERITY Community colleges are not only a way to increase international

education initiatives, but also a way to improve economic prosperity.

At the 2012 Summit on the Occasion of the G8, high-level education representatives from 16 nations and the European Union came together to discuss the importance of international

exchanges and ventures through "education diplomacy" as a way of achieving economic prosperity. Specific focus was placed on the role of community colleges; in countries in major need of skilled workers, the U.S. community college model is growing in interest and demand.
